U.S. deploys troops to Poland to help Americans who are leaving Ukraine

A U.S. official has confirmed with NPR that the White House has approved a plan to help Americans who are leaving in case Ukraine should Russia invade.

No preparations have happened as of yet, but some 1,700 US troops from the 82nd Airborne Corps are being deployed to Poland, and the expectation would be that those troops would assist U.S. citizens who have left Ukraine.
