Looking For The Source Of Joe Biden’s Hard-Left Rhetoric

In his 2021 book about newly-elected President Joe Biden (my review is here), New Yorker staff writer Evan Osnos observed about the 46th president that as a senator, Biden “voted for the deregulation of Wall Street, the Defense of Marriage Act, the North American Free Trade Agreement, [and] the war in Iraq.” Ok, Biden got two out of four correct with his votes in favor of Gramm-Leach-Bliley and NAFTA. Not perfect, but by political standards pretty good.

It’s hopefully a reminder that underneath it all, Biden is no hard ideologue....
