Most religious denominations officially support the COVID-19 vaccines. But more people are seeking exemptions based on faith. This leaves employers with a fraught question: How or whether to parse the sincerity of an individual’s “sincerely held religious belief.”

Over the past year, a significant number of American workers on both the right and left have expressed political objections to getting a vaccine.
