The nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court could prove pivotal on abortion rights. As was first revealed last week, Barrett in 2006 signed on to a newspaper ad calling for “an end to the barbaric legacy of Roe v. Wade.” And even if a new 6-to-3 conservative majority wouldn’t overturn Roe, it could allow the court to chip away at abortion rights in many other ways — as Barrett has more recently suggested.
