Pasadena police chief vows transparency after weekend shooting

During a two-hour news conference with local media outlets Monday, Pasadena Police Chief John Perez released video of a confrontation between police and protesters that followed the fatal police shooting of a Black man Saturday — and promised to release body-cam footage of the shooting itself soon.
Amid an ongoing community debate about policing and oversight, Perez spoke to reporters two days after a Pasadena officer killed the man in La Pintoresca Park.
