China Tracks Cases Through Purchases; Trade Effort: Virus Update
Hubei, the Chinese province at epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak, said it plans to use recent purchases of medicines to look for unidentified patients. China’s commerce ministry said it would take steps to blunt the impact of the virus.
Earlier, China reported the lowest number of new cases since announcing a change in its method of detection last week. So far, 73,424 people have been infected and 1,873 have died around the world, the vast majority of them in Hubei.
