'Rapidly changing situation': CDC monitoring 63 patients in 22 states for possible coronavirus

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed it is monitoring 63 patients in 22 states for possible instances of the coronavirus, which has spread quickly from its epicenter in Wuhan, China.

Dr. Nancy Messonnier, director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, said Friday that 11 of the 63 patients have tested negative for the virus, while two have tested positive, including a Chicago woman who returned from Wuhan on Jan. 13.
