Trump vows to bring any impeachment fight to nation's top court

President Donald Trump on Wednesday vowed to fight any effort by congressional Democrats to launch impeachment proceedings against him after the U.S. special counsel’s Russia probe, promising to take any legal battle to the Supreme Court despite Congress’ constitutional power to impeach.

“If the partisan Dems ever tried to Impeach, I would first head to the U.S. Supreme Court,” Trump wrote on Twitter.

The U.S. Constitution lays the ‘sole power’ of impeachment before the House of Representatives and the Senate.
