President-elect Donald Trump will nominate former Texas Gov. Rick Perry to serve as secretary of Energy. The former GOP presidential hopeful beat out two contenders for the Cabinet post: Sen. Joe Manchin, a Democrat representing West Virginia, and Ray Washburne, a Dallas investor working in oil and gas operations.
