Cowley resigns from WVC police week after being reinstated, settlement reached

West Valley City police detective Shaun Cowley is calling it quits. He announced late Sunday night that he and his attorney have reached a settlement with the city in a wrongful termination case and he will be resigning from the department less than a week after being offered his job back.
The city, however, maintains that a technicality in the wrongful termination hearing essentially forced them to settle.
