Appeal denied for Utah tribal leader who accepted gifts from controversially named NFL team

A Utah tribe won't reinstate a leader ousted from office for accepting gifts from the NFL's Washington, D.C., team.
The Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah said Tuesday that its leadership council has denied an appeal from Gari Lafferty, who lost her position last month after accepting the gifts that council members said wrongly linked their tribe to the NFL team's divisive name.
