1 critical, suspect dead in shooting at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston

A cardiologist at Boston's Brigham and Women's hospital is in critical condition Tuesday after he was shot twice by a gunman who police say fatally shot himself in a nearby exam room.

Authorities did not immediately release the identities of the gunman and victim but credited a swift response by police and hospital staffers to control the situation. The victim was rushed to the emergency room where he was treated for his life-threatening injuries.
