Connecticut’s highest court approves forced chemotherapy for teen

A Connecticut teenager who tried to reject life-saving chemotherapy for Hodgkin’s lymphoma can be forced to undergo the treatment anyway, the state’s Supreme Court ruled Thursday.

The court unanimously affirmed a trial court judgment, which found that state officials could intervene after the girl — identified as “Cassandra C.” — reportedly stopped showing up for her scheduled medical sessions.
