Details

PJ Media has a Right media bias. AllSides changed PJ Media bias rating from Lean Right to Right following an independent review in July 2020.

Alongside its News & Politics section, PJ Media's site prominently features Homeland Security and Faith sections on its home page — issues generally seen as important to conservatives. Its writers are openly critical of Democrats and left-wing policies. Many of PJ Media's news articles read like opinion pieces, inserting plentiful subjective value judgements alongside facts.

On Aug. 26, 2018, PJ Media ran a story by Paula Bolyard that claimed Google is manipulating its algorithm to prioritize left-leaning news outlets in its coverage of President Trump. President Trump, seemingly inspired by the post, responded by tweeting that Google has "rigged" results against him, saying Google is "suppressing" convservatives, calling it "very dangerous" and a "serious situation" that "will be addressed." (Note: AllSides is conducting an independent research report to explore these bias claims.)

While PJ Media is Right-leaning, an independent review by AllSides in August 2018 revealed the site does feature culture, lifestyle, and political issues that are Left-leaning, such as stories on body positivity, socialist political candidates, poverty and gentrification, and sex worker rights, albeit from a conservative perspective. Because the site does feature some stories the Left finds important, our initial media bias rating for PJ Media was Lean Right, with a Low Confidence Rating.

About PJ Media

PJ Media is an American conservative news, opinion, and commentary collaborative blog that was founded in 2005.

Its About Us page reads, "We've been there through primaries and general elections; the U.S. border crisis; doctored climate change data; the gunrunners' scandal; Department of Justice voter fraud and the Ground Zero mosque -- stories that others in the media initially passed by. "As a company, we've always felt a special connection to the values which make America special, as well as a dedication to keeping America great for our children and our children's children. That's why our main focus is on the three main areas that will have the most impact on the future of America: politics, parenting and lifestyle."
