Julie is AllSides' Director of Marketing and Media Bias Ratings. She has written extensively on the topic of media bias. She wrote the AllSides resource guide to Types of Media Bias, and helped to develop and currently oversees AllSides Media Bias Audits of news organizations and AllSides' media bias research to strengthen its media bias ratings. Julie's writing includes, What is Media Bias?Media Bias 101: How to Tell The Difference Between News, Analysis, and Opinion, Beyond Left v. For AllSides, she has also written numerous blogs and resources, such as AllStances: Perspectives on Critical Race Theory, AllStances: Perspectives on Cancel Culture, media bias alerts, and more.

Julie has also written for Evie Magazine, a woman's publication. She has written numerous pieces such as Did Millennials Finally Kill Flirting?Sexual Liberation May Be Making Men Less Masculine, and Feminism's Biggest Lie Is That Women Don't Have Power.

Julie was previously a spokeswoman and PR advisor for political advocacy campaigns. In this role, she crafted campaign messaging and worked directly with reporters to promote political advocacy campaigns in the press. This experience led her to become concerned about the ways political bias permeates journalism, and fueled her desire to analyze and educate about media bias. She studied Journalism and Public Relations at Penn State University. Julie says she believes in "being a responsible member of the media who elevates truth and critical thinking."

After taking the AllSides Discover Your Bias test and Pew Research Center's Political Typology Quiz to measure her political leaning, she's been given an AllSides Media Bias Rating™ of Lean Right.
