Human Events Bias Rated Lean Right in March 2022 Independent Review

Human Events describes itself as "the flagship conservative outlet of populist and nationalist thought."

An AllSides March 2022 Independent Review returned an initial bias rating of Lean Right for Human Events. The reviewer noted Human Events is transparent about its bias, and that well-known conservative Jack Posobiec was Senior Editor and Charlie Kirk was a Senior Contributor. They also noted content critical of feminism and communism. Some stories featured straightforward, factual reporting with no signs of bias, but featured a Lean Right story choice, such as a story about New York City not rehiring unvaccinated workers and YouTube removing CPAC videos. Opinion content is clearly labeled, however, News and Analysis are lumped into one category.

The reviewer found that Human Events is described as conservative by third parties, with some examples including Wikipedia, Media Post, and Erik Wemple, who wrote in an opinion piece for the Wall Street Journal, "Human Events is intertwined with the conservative movement in the United States. Founded in 1944, the publication grafted its name from a trustworthy source: “When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.”
