Hatred

As the battle for civil rights has expanded to include the LGBT community, the term “hateful” has become commonly used in reference to those resisting or fighting the gay rights movement. For those with questions or concerns about the sweeping social changes happening, the label of “hateful” has been unfairly and blanketly applied to individuals simply acting out their moral and religious commitments. Rather than acknowledging a legitimate religious basis for such questions or concerns, the label of hate presumes animus or malice.  

Thus, some conservatives have taken to asking, “can I disagree with you, without hating you?”
