He has long been at odds with his more hawkish trade advisors, especially Peter Navarro, who wanted to use the leverage of massive U.S. tariffs on Chinese exports to force Beijing to change its entire economic model, especially when it comes to industrial policy, subsidies, and intellectual property, and who also want to decouple the two biggest economies in the world. None of those long-standing, structural issues with China were addressed by the trade truce announced Friday. \u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\u003C\/blockquote\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ESome left-leaning content is to be found on the site: an Oct. 15, 2019 \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/foreignpolicy.com\/2019\/10\/15\/us-government-failing-women-foreign-policy-her-power-index\/\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EForeign Policy special report\u003C\/a\u003E claims the U.S. government is \u0022failing women in foreign policy,\u0022 noting that \u0022women accounted for one-third of the U.S. government\u2019s foreign-policy staff as of 2018, significantly less than their share of the country\u2019s total workforce (47 percent).\u0022 Those on the right might argue this gender inequality isn\u0027t a failure of the U.S. government, but is a natural consequence of women\u0027s \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.pewsocialtrends.org\/2013\/12\/11\/on-pay-gap-millennial-women-near-parity-for-now\/#the-balancing-act\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003Epersonal choices to focus on family\u003C\/a\u003E instead of high-powered foreign policy careers. By framing this as a \u0022failure,\u0022 FP\u0027s piece appears to have a left-leaning bias \u2014 however, the piece is behind a paywall, so it\u0027s unclear if FP notes this perspective later on in the piece.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EAnother piece labeled news, titled \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/foreignpolicy.com\/2019\/10\/14\/trump-turkey-sanctions-erdogan-weak-syria\/\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003E\u0022Trump\u2019s Weak Sanctions May Only Help Erdogan,\u0022\u003C\/a\u003E also reads more like analysis, displaying editorializing and a mild bias against Trump\u0027s decision [emphasis ours]:\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cblockquote\u003EU.S. President Donald Trump vowed to destroy Turkey\u2019s economy if its troops misbehaved after he greenlighted the Turkish invasion of northern Syria.
