A person was killed in Springfield early Saturday morning after being involved in a single-car crash, Springfield Police Department’s spokesperson, Ryan Walsh said on X. Officers responded to the scene at 500 block of Plumtree Rd. around 5:45 a.m., Walsh wrote. “The car struck two trees before catching on fire,” Walsh said on X. The driver died at the scene, Walsh wrote. Officials closed Plumtree Road from Emerson Street to Terrace Lane due to the crash, 22 News reported.
