Car strikes 2 trees, catches fire in deadly Mass. crash, police say

A person was killed in Springfield early Saturday morning after being involved in a single-car crash, Springfield Police Department’s spokesperson, Ryan Walsh said on X. Officers responded to the scene at 500 block of Plumtree Rd. around 5:45 a.m., Walsh wrote. “The car struck two trees before catching on fire,” Walsh said on X.
