WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI -- All lanes of northbound U.S. 23 were briefly closed on Friday morning due to a vehicle fire. The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office asked people to avoid the area of northbound US-23 near Michigan Avenue in Pittsfield Township around 10:30 a.m. A semitruck had caught on fire, temporarily blocking all lanes, according to Derrick Jackson, spokesperson for the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office. It’s unclear what was in the truck, although officials did note it was not hazardous. The fire was under control and the left lane reopened...
