Free Market

For conservatives, the free market is a positive economic idea that has never been fully realized in a current American context with abundant constraints and regulations. For liberals, the free market is an idea being realized currently - with many devastations blamed on the free market and its associated capitalist philosophy. While liberals see a need for more restrictions to reign in the excesses and dangers of the free market, conservatives see an opposite need - namely, less restrictions so that the free market has a chance to work as imagined.
