Church

This term has become increasingly politicized as the role of religious institutions has become increasingly subject to critique for their involvement in the public sphere. While religious involvement in churches, mosques and synagogues remains a meaningful part of many Americans' life, a growing portion of the country eschews any organized religion - making "church," like "religion" itself, an increasingly loaded term.

QUESTIONS TO PLAY WITH:

-Many see the Church (and Churches) as becoming less and less of an influence in American life and our national conversation.  Do you agree?

-Is Church more of a threat to State or is State more of a threat to Church?
